- Educational Background
- I graduated from California State University, Sacramento in 1980 and received my teaching credential from Dominican College of San Rafael in 1990. I later earned a Master of Education with an emphasis in Educational Technology from City University in 1995.
- Personal Information
- I grew up in Napa, moved away during college and just returned this summer. I am married to Tammy, have two children, Nick (25) and Megan (22) and a very old dog, Snuggles(16).
Before becoming a teacher I worked as a program director for camp and conference centers. I also was a carpenter for several years. I like riding my bicycle, mountaineering, and gardening.
- Subjects Taught
- I teach 7th-8th grade Language Arts, Social Studies and Study Skills.
- Began Teaching at River School
- This is my 2nd year at River School and I am excited to be here. The students are the best!
- Taught Before
- I have taught 6th- 8th grade Language Arts & Social Studies and Computer classes most of my teaching career plus one year as an elementary school counselor and one year teaching Personal Finance, Photography, and Video in high school. I also worked in a program to help disadvantaged students go to college-Educational Talent Search.
- What Defines the River School to you?
- River School is a where students can explore, be themselves and try new experiences that will help them grow and learn. It is more than a school it is a life experience to always remember.
