Educational Background: Masters degree in music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (majoring in Piano Performance); and a Registered Music Therapist.
Personal Information: Her passion for music is evidences through her involvement in Napa Valley Chorale as the accompanist; director of God¹s House Band at First United Methodist Church; collaborative performances with many Napa area musicians and Napa Valley College; and as a solo performer.
Subjects Taught: Taught 6th grade Chorus in the wheel for 6 years. I also teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade Strings/Guitar class and 7th/8th Musicals class. In addition, I direct "Ambassadors", and after-school club which creates a 40 minute variety show each trimester to present to 3 elementary schools; and this year I¹ve started an after-school Jazz band as well.
Began Teaching at River School: This is both my third year at River School.
Taught Elsewhere: I work half-time at the Veteran¹s Home in Yountville and have 7 private students.
What is important to you in education?: Acquiring skills in music not only assists students in other subjects, but is a wonderful and fulfilling lifelong outlet and leisure time pursuit.
