Personal Information
When I’m not playing Frisbee, I love to read, play board games, or listen
to music and podcasts. My wife Tisha and I previously lived in Seattle,
and prior to that we lived in Japan for one year. I am happy to return to
Napa, where I spent my first year of teaching.

7th and 8th grade Math and Science
Began Teaching at River School
This is my first year at the River School. I love it!
Taught Before
I taught for one year at a large high school in Seattle. I also
spent a year teaching at New Technology
High School here in Napa where I team taught Scientific Studies
with my good friend Patrick Bynum.
What is important to you in education?
Two of the most important questions in life are: “Does this make sense?”
and “How would I feel?” If I can help students to become empathetic
critical thinkers then I will be proud of my work.
What defines the River School to you?
The middle school student is a person in the midst of a growing process full of ups and downs. It is wonderful to work in a place that recognizes this and makes the deliberate effort
