Educational Background

Graduate of Vintage High School and Sonoma State University with a B.A. in Theatre Arts. Single subject teaching credential in English from Touro University.

Personal Information

I love to read! Some of my favorite books are The Book Thief, The No. One Ladies Detective Agency series and The Absolutely True Confessions of a Part-Time Indian. A couple of my favorite movies are Spellbound and Children of Heaven and I have a great 80’s station on Pandora. I am a bit of a “Gleek”, but that’s all I watch; I’d much rather read or play games with my son, Sky, who is in the fourth grade, and my husband, who I met way back in middle school. We have three cats, two dogs, a very scary-looking pet spider named Princess, and a few fish.

Subjects Taught

7th and 8th grade Language Arts and 6/7/8 grade drama.

Began Teaching at River School

I started teaching drama in the Spring of 2000. This is my sixth year teaching 7th and 8th grade Language Arts.

Taught Before

I taught preschool and Kinder in my early twenties and I was a K-12 substitute teacher the year before I became River School’s drama teacher.

What is important to you in education?

I believe that having confidence in one’s skills and abilities, and acting on behalf each other and our communities (local and global) is the result of quality education.

What Defines the River School to you?

River School is a place where the students are given opportunities to discover their strengths, learn from their mistakes, and gain the confidence they need to take on their challenges. River School is a creative, lively place, and we have a lot of fun!
