opportunity for parents/guardians and their students to apply to attend a middle
“school of choice” other than their school of residence during
an annual open enrollment period.
The open enrollment period will be
January 11 through January 29, 2010. Applications
must be received no later than
Friday, January 29, 2010, at 3:30 p.m. to be included in the
random selection process for the
2010-2011 school year.
Open enrollment
applications are available at
your elementary school and must be submitted to your elementary school.
For the 2010-2011 school year, Redwood

If approved, an open enrolled student becomes a student of the “school of
choice” through the 8th grade.
Once approved, the student
does not have automatic rights to return to his/her original school of
residence. If the student desires
to return to the original school of residence, the parent/guardian must reapply
through the annual open enrollment process.
The District provides bus transportation
only for students who reside beyond designated walking distances
within established school attendance areas.
The parent/guardian of a
successful open enrollment applicant must provide transportation to and from the
“school of choice”.
